Better than catastrophic failure. Did you pinpoint where the shavings came from?
It appears that the rod bearing spun, the rod itself looks to be where the shrapnel came from…which would have to mean that rod bolt(s) came loose, which is hard to understand, I torqued the rod bolts wet starting at 60in/lbs, increasing 20in/lbs at a time alternating starting bolt each time until final torque at 170in/lbs…I used the same sequence initially when checking rod to crank clearance with plastigauge, it showed.003 clearance…🤨

2nd motor back together and on the kart…fired right up, let it idle at about 4000 rpm for 10 min, sounded real crisp and responsive, drained the oil out, no flakes or shavings, all looks good, going on the dyno probably next week…🤞🏻
